In the wake of the devastating fire at the Hillmont Apartments in Carrboro, several EMPOWERment Inc. tenants have been displaced and are now facing the difficult process of rebuilding their lives. The fire destroyed multiple homes, displaced at least 20 residents, and deeply impacted families throughout our community.

We are asking our community, partners, and supporters to come together in support of our neighbors during this critical time. Donations made to the Hillmont Uplift Fund will directly assist affected tenants with immediate necessities such as housing support, food, clothing, transportation, household essentials, and long-term recovery needs.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide stability, dignity, and hope to families navigating unimaginable loss. Together, we can show our tenants that they are not alone.
